Cycling / Terrain

This itinerary allows for average daily distance of approximately 30-50 kms. This is designed to enjoy the cycling through the rural life and meet the people of Rajasthan. The vehicle will accompany and en-route make stop for bottled water and Juices for the cyclist. A nice way of sharing different expereinces encountered on the way. The support vehicle will always travel behind the last cyclist. If you wish to take a break from riding than wait at the side of the road and supporting vehile will pick you up.

Weather

January to mid-April and October to December is the best time to cycle in Rajasthan. Average temperatures range from max of 25°C and minimum of 27°C. The desert sun is not so intense and the days are cool and pleasant, perfect for cycling. Please bring a sun hat, sun cream and sunglasses. The mornings and evenings are generally cool and mild, however, January and late December can be very cold. Please bring a jumper/windcheater and a sweater/shawl.     Delhi - Agra - Bharatpur - Abhaneri - Jaipur - Delhi

      Day 1: Arrive Delhi

    Arrive at Delhi international Airport.

    You will be acknowledged and warmly welcomed at the Delhi Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our representatives will greet you and welcome you with a floral garland as you exit the Arrivals Terminal following which you will be transferred to your hotel.

      Day 2: Arrive Delhi (Non bicycle Day) 

    Buffet breakfast at hotel. Proceed for full day combined city tour of Old & New Delhi. Drive to Old Delhi past Red Fort–Shah Jehan’s elegant citadel in red sandstone, visit Jama Masjid –India’s largest mosque and enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride (02 pax in one rickshaw) through the bustling bazaar of Chandni Chowk “silver street” with its quaint shops & ancient gateways. Walk through the Asia’s largest wholesale spice market. Return to New Delhi driving past the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyen, including the India Gate & the Presidential Palace. Lunch in a local restaurant in the city. Post lunch visit the beautiful ‘Humayun Tomb’ of the Mughal era -predecessor of the world famous Taj Mahal. Thereafter proceed for the visit of Qutab Minar - the world's tallest brick minaret. Return to hotel. We stay overnight at hotel.

      Day 3: Delhi - Agra (Drive 180 KMS / Cycling 40 KMS) 

    Post breakfast start our excursion driving towards Agra, which takes about 2 hrs. from Sohna towards via the back road till Nuh. From here we begin cycling for around 3 hrs. to Hodal (Koshi).  After taking the lunch we continue our drive for Agra to witness the symbol of Love, ‘The Taj Mahal’. It took 22 years and 20,000 men to build; the marbled beauty. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, in the 17th century, the Taj Mahal is truly among the Seven Wonders of the World. We stay overnight in Agra.

      Day 4: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri- Bharatpur (Drive 40 Kms / Cycling 30 Kms) 

    On the Day 3 morning we visit the beautiful white marble Taj Mahal, and later we move on to visit the Red fort of Akbar after which we drive for about an hour to visit The Fatehpur Sikri. The abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, in righteousness of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who sanctified Akbar and prophesized the birth of the three sons to the heirless Emperor. After the excursion we proceed for delightful Indian lunch and afterwards visit the Bharatpur wildlife sanctuary. We shall ride our bikes for Bharatpur and view the mesmerizing country sites.  We stay overnight in Bharatpur.

      Day 5: Bharatpur – Mahwa-  Abhaneri (Drive 60 Kms / Cycling 40 Kms) 

    Buffet breakfast at hotel. Morning 02 Hrs cycling in Kaleodevi National Park (Bird Sanctuary). Explore the Keoladeo National Park or Keoladeo Ghana National Park by cycle, Over 230 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home. It was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971. It is also a declared World Heritage Site. Drive from Bird Sanctuary to Mahwah (approx 65 Kms /02 Hrs) Lunch at Midway Resort at mahuwa. Later drive continues on the highway some 5 kms further and disembarks the vehicle and bike towards the country sites of Abhaneri. We stay overnight in fixed camps.

      Day 6: Abhaneri – Thela - Jaipur (Drive 123 Kms / Cycling 40 Kms) 

    Buffet breakfast at hotel. This morning we start with cycling 40 Kms from Abhaneri Village Camp to Thela. Lunch at Thela thereafter we continue our drive to Jaipur. Jaipur, popularly known as the “Pink City”, is the capital of Rajasthan state, India. Jaipur is worldwide famous for the Architecture, monuments, Palaces,  Art of Craft , Culture and least of Unique food. We stay overnight in Jaipur

      Day 7: Jaipur (NO-CYCLING) 

    This morning you’ll be driven to Jaipur. The “Pink City”, is the capital of Rajasthan state. Jaipur is worldwide famous for its Architecture, monuments, Palaces, Art and Craft, Culture and its unique cuisines. The sightseeing will start from the ancient capital of Amber to see the fabulous Amber Fort Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s most successful General, started the construction of Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. After lunch visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar (medieval observatory) and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), etc. We can stay in Jaipur.

      Day 8: Jaipur-Delhi (Drive 220 Kms / Cycling 40 Kms) 

    Buffet breakfast at hotel. Proceed towards Delhi Jaipur to Chammu / Samode / Neemka Thana Patan –approx 110 Kms by coach (approx 3 hrs). Neemka Thana / Patan by bicycle. Lunch at PATAN MAHAL. Later drive for Delhi by vehicle via Kotputali to Jaipur- Delhi national highway and continue drive for Delhi (approx 150 kms- 3 ½ hrs). On arrival at Delhi check-in at hotel. Farewell Buffet diner and overnight.

      Day 9: Delhi – Fly Out (By : International Flight) 

    On time you will transfer to Airport to board the flight for onwards destination.

    Please Note: If you won´t be without your own saddle (without the post) or your own click pedals, please bring them with you and let your tour guide attach them to your bicycle..
